Important update: Changes to operating hours

A number of changes to operating hours of Shoalhaven Swim | Sport | Fitness (SSSF) facilities, and other Council-managed services, have been implemented as part of the ongoing work to improve Council’s financial sustainability.

The changes to operating hours of SSSF facilities have been identified after careful consideration of patronage trends in an attempt to minimise the impact on patrons, and will reduce the operating costs of SSSF by almost $250,000 per annum.

Village Pools - Berry, Greenwell Point, Kangaroo Valley, Milton, Shoalhaven Heads

• The village pool season has been shortened to 16 weeks with a revised opening date of Saturday, 30 November 2024.
• Village pools will close two hours earlier on weekends outside of school holiday periods. In instances of extreme heat, ad-hoc extension of operating hours will be considered.

Sea Pools - Ulladulla and Huskisson

• Both sea pools will close in winter, effective from Sunday, 1 June 2025.
• Please note: Huskisson sea pool is currently closed due to poor water quality with the intention to reopen when conditions permit.

Bay & Basin Leisure Centre

• From Sunday, 12 May 2024, the centre is closing two hours earlier, the amended Sunday operating hours are 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

Ulladulla Leisure Centre

• The centre will close on Sundays (only) between April and September, effective from 1 April 2025.

Nowra Aquatic Park

• Nowra Aquatic Park will close between May and August, and summer extended hours will be reduced to the school holiday period only. In instances of extreme heat, ad-hoc extension of operating hours will be considered.

Bomaderry Aquatic Centre

• The centre will close two hours earlier on Saturdays at 3:00 PM, effective from Saturday, 24 August 2024. Summer extended hours will be reduced to the school holiday period only. In instances of extreme heat, ad-hoc extension of operating hours will be considered.

Sussex Inlet Aquatic Centre

• The centre will close on Sundays, effective Sunday, 25 August 2024.

We understand that these changes may affect your routine, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Our priority is to ensure that we continue to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all our members, and these adjustments are necessary to maintain the sustainability of our services.

Despite the reduction in hours, we want to assure you that the quality of our services will remain unchanged.
