Five talented swimmers from the Ulladulla Leisure Centre squad program delivered standout performances at the NSW Country Championships, held over the weekend at Sydney Olympic Park. Earning top 10 finishes in a highly competitive field, these young athletes demonstrated impressive skill, determination, and dedication to their sport.
Gold medal story
Eloise Davies exceeded all expectations with a spectacular performance in the Under 12’s Girls 800m Freestyle, taking out gold with a remarkable 15-second personal best to become NSW Country Champion. She continued her success by adding a silver medal in the 400m Freestyle, rounding out an incredible weekend.
Impressive performances across the board
Anna Markovitz came agonizingly close to securing her state qualifying time, missing out by just 0.04 of a second. However, exceptional performances saw Anna awarded the Ulladulla High School Age Champion title last week.
Three more of our competitors in Luke Forrester, Byron Ritchie, and Harry Davies - each secured top 10 finishes, further showcasing the depth of talent in the squad.
Expert coaching behind the success
These achievements are a testament to the dedication and guidance of Silver Licensed Coach, Terry Jackson, who continues to support and develop athletes as they strive for excellence.
“The performances of each of the individuals is something I am incredibly proud of and is just reward for their dedication. I encourage them to continue to keep striving for excellence, and as I constantly remind the athletes, never is work without reward, or reward without work," coach Terry Jackson said.
A huge congratulations to Eloise, Anna, Luke, Byron, and Harry for their outstanding efforts on the state stage. Their commitment to the sport and their incredible performances makes them ones to watch in the future!
